If I closed my eyes, would I see forever?
Distant internal thoughts that never end
Impossible dreams, achieved easily in moments
Flashing past with various endings
All in full color and completely realistic

If I closed my eyes, would my wishes come true?
In the blink of one second, so many requests
Arriving from the heart then departing to eternity
Lifetime goals, never quite achieved
Put to bed for another rainy day

If I closed my eyes, would my troubles depart?
Disintegrating rapidly through thought
Banished to another dimension
Extinguished forever, leaving happiness
Smiling once again for pleasure

If I opened my eyes, could I change the world?
Placing trust into actions and not thoughts
Participation without abstention
Seeing the very best that life has to offer
Giving back all those dreams to make a better place.
